Tarabalam, often known simply as “Tara,” shows which Nakshatras are favorable, based upon one’s birth Nakshatra. The 27 Nakshatras are split into three groups of nine. The significance of each group of nine Nakshatras is as follows.
- Janma – Not Good
- Sampat – Very Good
- Vipat – Bad
- Kshema – Good
- Pratyak – Not Good
- Sadhaka – Very Good
- Vadha – Very Bad
- Maitra – Good
- Paramamaitra – Excellent
This set of 9 significances repeats three times. So for example, if someone’s Birth Nakshatra was Mrigashira, that would be the Janma Nakshatra, and the Tara would not be good as a time to start a business or some other activity. After Mrigashira comes Ardhra, which would be Sampat, which is a very good Tara, or a very good time to start something. So in this way, it can be seen if there is a good Tara or not.
At the end of each set of 9 Nakshatras, the set starts again with Janma. So for example, if the proposed time to start a business was in Chitra Nakshatra, that is the tenth Nakshatra away from Mrigashira. So Chitra would have a Tara of Janma, or not good.
There are also a few special rules with Tarabalam. One is that the 22nd Nakshatra from one’s Birth Nakshatra would be Kshema, which is normally good. However, the 22nd Nakshatra is actually destructive and is not good.
Also, the 27th Nakshatra from one’s Birth Nakshatra would be Parama Maitra, which is the best Tara. However, the 27th Nakshatra is only good at the beginning, and should be completely avoided toward the end of it. So these are some special rules that have to be followed.
Tarabalam is very important in Electional Astrology, also called Muhurta Astrology, which is the art and science of finding auspicious moments, or “Muhurtas,” for starting various important activities. Additionally, Muhurtas can be used for ending activities or relationships as well, but ending them at the most auspicious time.
This Electional Astrology Service that is offered at Sphinx Ziggurat does in fact take account of Tarabalam, unlike other supposedly similar services out there. That means that the Muhurta Chart is personalized for each client, checking their Birth Nakshatra, and checking the Tarabalam for them. If anyone reading this would like to find the auspicious day and time to start a business, host a celebration, begin a journey, begin any kind of class, contact someone important, or anything else important that has a start time, please feel welcome to contact us at sphinxziggurat@gmail.com, or with this easy Contact Form right here, or easy Order Form right here.
