I was pleased with how much the filmmakers got into this film, especially the parts about the Trojan War, and Agamemnon, the Supreme Commander of the Greek Forces. I was familiar with those parts of the story, but I do not think most people are… so they are going to be in for a treat!
I thought the overall presentation of Agamemnon was hilarious, never saying anything, just always expressing with motions. And amazing armor! Whoever was responsible for that armor deserves an award, in my humble opinion. Huge kudos to the actor and everyone responsible for this realization of Agamemnon!
The only thing I would say to prepare viewers just a little is to remember that Agamemnon had to sacrifice his daughter to gain a wind for the fleet. That detail was mentioned in the film, but very quickly, and might easily be missed. And without that detail, what happened to Agamemnon once the war finished might not quite make sense. So I add it here for clarity.
Also, I must commend Zendaya for a truly masterful presentation of Goddess Athena, and also commend the writers for a truly well-written dialogue for the Goddess. I would not be surprised if Zendaya picks up a Best Supporting Actress for her performance.
Last but not least, I must congratulate the Director and everyone involved for the stunning realization of all the Troy action. For some reason, those parts very much stick out, from the discovery of the Trojan Horse on the beach onwards. Fine fine work!
I must have been in tears at least six times!
